He is best known for his role as Ricky LaFleur in the mockumentary television series Trailer Park Boys, which he co-created with John Paul Tremblay and Mike Smith. Wells has also appeared in several other films and television shows, including Swearnet, The Drunk and on Drugs Happy Fun Time Hour, and Sunnyvale Trailer Park: The Movie. Wells was born in Moncton, New Brunswick, and grew up in Sydney, Nova Scotia. He met Tremblay and Smith in high school, and they began performing together as a comedy troupe in the early 1990s.
